Can’t commit to a full season of classes or need flexibility? Then choose a Flex Class Pack! Use the Flex Class Pack to attend any 6 of our nine scheduled classes during the Spring 2024 season. It’s suggested you attend the first and last classes, if possible, and then select any 4 in between. If that doesn't align, just come play when it works for your family!

Every season at Rooted in Play Outdoor Learning, we focus on helping children develop one of 8 core skills they need to become curious, capable learners who can contribute to their world. This Spring, we focus on creativity!

We’ll help kids develop creative mindsets and strategies that they can use throughout their lives to invent new things, solve problems, express their ideas and feelings, and to nurture relationships. And, we’ll do it all through enriching, outdoor play!

The core lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units:

1. Building Blocks (lessons 1-3): we focus on the Three B's: building, breaking, and blending. We use these three core processes when we are creative.

2. Creative Thinking (lessons 4-6): we use pretending to explore divergent thinking and discover many possible solutions to problems.

3. Creative Expression (lessons 7-9): we explore how we can express ideas and feelings through art, music, and movement.

The Spring 2024 series begins the third week of April and will meet on the following days*:

• Friday at 10:30am (Apr 19-Jun 14)

About

These play and nature based enrichment classes follow the thoughtfully designed Tinkergarten curriculum, with the intention of helping kids develop the critical skills they’ll need as they grow. Classes are offered to children ages ~18 months to 8 years old, and their parent or trusted caregiver. Classes meet once per week for 60-75 minutes, and in all-weather (as per safety guidelines). Classes also offer a wonderful opportunity for both kids and adults to connect and build relationships, too.
